Linux: Installing KDE Plasma

 

InstallPlasma KDEOnUbuntu 20.04AndLinux Mint 20You must use the default repository by using the following apt commands

Ubuntu 20.04: Install KDE Plasma

$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apat install kdeplasma-desktop
Ubuntu 20.04: Install KDE Plasma Desktop

You will be asked to configure during installation.sddmLogin manager, click OK to selectsddm>Login management by default

Select SDDM Login Manager

Once the installation is completed, turn off the system and clickPlasma deskEnter the password to log inPlasma KDE desktop environment.

Select SDDM in Linux Mint

Install KDE Plasma for Debian 11/10

$ sudo apt-install tasksel

OpenSUSE: Install KDE Plasma

ForOpenSUSEKDE Plasma’s latest version is available in the system default archive. You can install it using root command zypper.

$ sudo zypper with -t pattern KDE kde_plasma

Fedora 34: Install KDE Plasma

ForFedoraSystems, KDE Plasma updates are available from default repositories. Make sure Fedora is up-to-date so you can install KDE Plasma using these dnf commands.

$ sudo dnf update
$ sudo dnf install @kde-desktop

KDE Plasma can be installed on RHEL/ CentOS, Rocky Linux/AlmLinux devices

# yum groupinstall KDE Plasma Workspaces

ForArch LinuxPackages must be downloaded from an official archive.
